The Parable of the Ten Virgins

HEADLINE: KJV Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish. 3 They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

We will now consider the parable of the Ten Virgins, "not speaking our own words" (Isaiah 58:12-13), "not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (I Corinthians 2:13). Word must answer and define Word. "To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them", Isaiah 8:20. "For your thoughts are not like my thoughts and your ways are not like my ways", Isaiah 55:8-10. "Whom shall He teach knowledge? … Precept must be upon precept, line upon line and there a little (in the New Testament) and there a little" (from the Old Testament and Lost Books), Isaiah 28:9-10. This is the way of the Spirit, the way they teach God’s Word.

Word Definitions

Ten Virgins

A virgin can be thought of in two ways, as a person and as a church. In Heaven angelic females are called "Virgins", 3 Hermas 9:92, 106, 107. They are called the "maidens of Mother Wisdom" in Proverbs 9:1-6. They are the 12 "Virtues". Faith, Charity, Truth and Mercy are among them. All of us must be borne of or taught by these angelic consciences or we will not be "acceptable" in the Kingdom of Heaven. Collectively the churches are called "virgins". Mother Wisdom was seen in Revelation 12 as "the Church" pregnant with child, 1 Hermas 2:17. Ten Virgins are the daughters of their Mother (the Church). As offspring they are "ten churches". John wrote to the seven churches in Asia in the Book of the Revelation. For an in depth look at the churches, see 1 Hermas chapters 2, 4 and 3 Hermas chapter 9. Individually we are to be "pure in heart" like a virgin. We can be that way when we are led by them and their "virtues" become our new character.

TEN VIRGINS = "churches"

Lamps

KJV Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man [is] the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Daniel 9:21 Yea, whiles I [was] speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22 And he informed [me], and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

The Spirit of man is the Holy Spirit in this sense. Obviously the Archangel Gabriel was Daniel’s excellent teacher who gave him great "light". He "enlightened" his understanding.

In a lesser sense our spirits are candles because Jesus said, "Ye are the light of the world". A candle is not put under a bushel basket, where its light is hidden, but on a candlestick so that all in the "house" may see it! We must "let our light so shine before men that they may see good our works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven". There is a problem with certain lamps. Moses’face was so bright that he had to wear a bonnet and veil to avoid frightening the Hebrews. This speaks volumes about the understanding of the Jews. They never really understood Moses! They could not see the light! In the GOOD NEWS we will not "veil" the bright glory of the Spirit. You will see it in all its brilliant intensity! If you can handle it, more power to you!

LAMP = Holy Spirit, or YOU, also "thy Word"

Bridegroom

KJV Psalm 19:1 *To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.* The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

Clearly this is Jesus. He is the true light (Sun-Son) of this world. This "light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not, John 1:5

John 9: 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Bridegroom = Jesus

Vessels

"Vessel" are containers made to hold or store something. There are angelic vessels and there are human vessels, Romans 9:21-24; 2 Corinthians 4:7; 2 Timothy 2:20. I hope you readers are all "vessels for clean use" and that you are full of "good" things.

Vessel = the human body or an angelic teacher

Oil

Oil is an interesting word. In the GOOD NEWS, God taught us that it means what it sounds like phonetically. Oil defracted is O - WILL. The letter "O" means judgment or judge from II Esdras 5:42, where God says, "I will liken my judgment to a circle"… Of course WILL means "determined desire". Therefore "oil" means the Judge’s determined desire or more simply God’s WILL.

There are four kinds of "oil" we want to consider.

  1. The first is the word of rebuke for edification.
  2. KJV Psa 141:5 Let the righteous smite me; [it shall be] a kindness: and let him reprove me; [it shall be] an excellent oil, [which] shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also [shall be] in their calamities.

Burning this kind of oil edifies and enlightens the mind. Sometimes one gently slaps the face of one who has fainted or who is in deep slumber to awaken him. This is what the righteous do for brethren lulled by the Dragon. The purpose is to keep them awake and watchful, while we war with devils. It is not to offend anyone!

  3. The next type of "oil" is the oil of joy, Isaiah 61:3, something the Father tried to give to the "elder son" in the parable of the prodigal son. This brother refused to enter into his Father’s joy and rest. He was angry and jealous. Anger and meanness brings great sin and blindness. The "elder son" lacked this extra oil within himself and there was no extra vessel to help convince him to react better. If you refuse your own Father, how great is your personal darkness!
  4. Oil of joy is also this: KJV James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Zephaniah 3:14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. 15 The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, [even] the Lord, [is] in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

  5. A fourth form of OIL is "olive oil" or O - LIVE oil. This is the Judge's "determined desire" that ALL MEN shall LIVE! Now all men are "judges" against the Kingdom of darkness.

Psalm 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 6 [Let] the high [praises] of God [be] in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, [and] punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

Isaiah 54: 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the Lord

Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.

This is the meaning of "olive oil" which is an anointing oil and why Jesus was so fond of hanging out on the Mount of Olives! Curiously "hellfire for man" pushers do not carry one drop of this OIL!

OIL = (A) Corrective reproof for edification, (B) God’s will the we rejoice over the salvation of "sinners" [prodigals], (C) Joy over the suspension of judgment penalties, (D) WILL of the Judge that ALL MEN shall LIVE.

Slumbered and slept

Isaiah 29:10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. 13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Matthew 15: 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.

God has closed the eyes of the churches and their members for the reasons underlined in the texts. Christians are following men ("hirelings"), and the Lord IS NOT their Shepherd. This is not my evaluation, but the conclusion of the Most High Himself! While asleep one tends to dream and much of what the churches call "truth" is all fantasy and non-reality, namely "condemnation and death for man which Jesus voided", 2 Corinthians 3:6-12. When and if they open their eyes, they will be amazed at their darkness. No church is exempt! They all slumbered and slept!

Slumbered and slept = departure from reality into fantasy dream-world

Trimmed their lamps

To trim a lamp is to decorate and garnish it. This is to beautify or glorify the Word so that it is interesting and attractive to those who see it.

The verb form of "trim" is 3. To ornament; decorate, and the noun form of the word "trim" means 6. Personal quality; character. 7. A cutting or clipping to make neat. This is what every human lamp must do to himself in anticipation of Jesus. He must clean up his life and straighten out his character with the beauties of holiness in a rebirth in understanding.

Psalm 110:1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people [shall be] willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou [art] a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Trimmed their lamps = improved their character with "the beauties of holiness"

The coming of the Bridegroom

The coming of the Bridegroom is not what the churches teach. What they teach on this subject and what they look for is "fantasy"! Jesus "comes" to inspect his garden seeking fruit, Song of Solomon 6;1,2,11. He may come several times knocking on the door of one’s heart, Luke 13:6-9. When Jesus comes knocking, it is better to be awake so you can let him in! Revelation 3:20. If you are looking for some nebulous "last day coming", no doubt you might have already missed his visit! Night-time is ignorance and error which is so rampant all over this earth, Isaiah 60:2.

Coming of the Bridegroom = coming of Jesus to his vineyard to inspect the fruit and to teach.

Them that sell and buy

The church has fallen into the "money trap". In Jesus’ day he cast out from the temple those who bought and sold overthrowing the tables of the money changers, because they had made merchandise out of things that belong to their religious practice, John 2:13-17. All things from God are FREE of charge and provided for the benefit of all His children. Real "truth" is not for sale, but you can buy it from the Archangels for a "penny-thought", Isaiah 55:1-3; Revelation 6:5-6, 22:17. The churches and preachers will sell you video tapes and audio tapes, books, religious artifacts, and require that you pay tithes and offerings as they sell and make merchandise of their doctrines. Selling this "generic doctrine" displeases the Bridegroom. It is not beyond him to cast them all out again! You must go "outside" the true temple and wedding chamber, if you have to "buy"!

Them that sell and buy = those who sell Christian and religious doctrine and merchandise. The buyers are the religionists of today who buy this merchandise.

The marriage feast

The union and reunion of God with ALL his sons and daughters has been called a marriage. I call it "FAMILY" reunion. All "prodigals" rise to attend this feast, where they are drawn by God and Jesus. There they receive the best robe ("righteousness", Revelation 19:8) as a wedding garment, new shoes for their feet, a wedding ring for their finger, and they get a kiss and a hug from the Almighty! There you finally meet Mother Wisdom, God’s Wife and your Mother! It is a real wedding feast. There in the "Ark", we are paired with the mate God selected for us before He rested from His labors a few thousand years ago. The male always enters paired with his designated female. This is the Order designed by the Creator! Up there, "there is no marrying or giving in marriage". There is just the introduction of already married pairs. We dine on "fatted calf" and drink "wines on the lees, well refined", Isaiah 25:6-8; Luke 15:20-24. You have great surprises to look forward to. So get ready!

Marriage feast = "FAMILY reunion" and formal education (feast) about what God is doing.

The Door shut

Jesus Christ is the Door! John 10:7. Heaven has 12 major "doors", Revelation 21:12. These are the 12 Archangels. There are 365 other doors in Heaven, III Baruch 6:12-15. All "doors" are teachers, Psalm 141:3. A "shut" door is one who refuses to teach!

The door shut = refusal of "teachers" to teach! KJV Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity.

The Parable With Definitions

We will now look at this parable with Word definitions in a way that you have never seen or heard before. No man-made opinion or interpretation using man’s wisdom with man’s words will appear. This is "precept upon precept line upon line, here a little and" there a little according "to the law and the testimony". Word will answer, define and interpret Word. Since we are also linking parables, let us define "elder son" in the parable of the prodigal son.

Elder son is the older brother in the parable.

Numbers 11:16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. 17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which [is] upon thee, and will put [it] upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear [it] not thyself alone.

Elder = LED – ER or leader. These men are pastors and leaders in the churches. Because the churches are human run organizations, they have a noticeable problem:

Isaiah 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he [is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he [is] the tail. 16 For the leaders of this people cause [them] to err; and [they that are] led of them [are] destroyed.

Elder son = preachers, prophets, bishops, and deacons or the churches’ leadership

What we will now do is take the Parable of the Ten Virgins and READ IT again with the "key definitions" inserted in place of the key words to see the real message Jesus delivered.

The "Defined" Message

HEADLINE: KJV Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten "churches", which took (their lamps ) "themselves", "and went forth to meet the "Jesus". 2 And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish. 3 They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and "were void of corrective reproof for edification; they could not rejoice against suspension of judgment penalties, and could not rejoice with the Father over salvation of ALL "sinners": 4 But the wise took "thy Word" in their "angelic teachers" who were with "them". 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all "departed from reality into a fantasy dreamland". 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, "Jesus is coming to visit his VINE"; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and "improved their character and tried to live holy". 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your "thy Word"; for "the Spirit is not speaking to us" (our lamps are gone out). 9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to "those Jesus cast out of the temple and away from him" and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to "the FAMILY reunion": and "the angelic teachers (doors) refused to teach them".

There you have the Parable of the Ten Virgins illuminated, Word answering Word "to the law and the testimony". You can take this Word to the bank of Heaven!

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Isaiah 28:9-10. 9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little.
